As in previous years, we had ten fishing days in the rivers in the summer of 2010. The first days were July 12th and 13th, and the last ones were September 28th and 29th. Otherwise, this summer was marked by car trouble, as our otherwise excellent Land Rover hasn't been reliable this year. It even broke down in Kjós when we were headed west to Snæfellsnes to fish on our scheduled days of September 7th–9th, and we had to turn back. Other than that, there isn't much to report regarding our fishing in the rivers this summer, as we didn't make good use of our days.
We have taken many trips to Bakkaá and Gríshólsá over the past five years, or during the time that the fishing association "Foss" leased them. We said our final goodbye to the rivers on September 29th by landing one four-pound trout and one sea trout. Of course, they both took the bait at Laxabakki, just like most of the fish caught in these rivers.
