We had two fishing days at the beginning of July in Grjótá and Tálma. We stayed in the fishing lodge by Húshylur on the Grjótá river. The weather during these fishing days was absolutely wonderful, but the fishing was poor. We did, however, manage to hook a salmon high up in the river, but it escaped immediately. Further down, we hooked a salmon again, and that fish was landed. Our fishing companions were our friends. Unfortunately, I was not in good enough shape on this fishing trip because I was recovering from shoulder surgery, and the trip really ended up taking its toll (hefna sín). I was able to cast the fly, but I probably should have skipped it, because following the fishing trip, my shoulder rapidly worsened, and it ended with another surgery. It probably tipped the scales that I fell on my shoulder in one of the ravines, and the pain, oh my goodness.
