Last year, we caught beautiful sea char in the middle of the lake from the western bank. This time, we decided to fish in the lava field. Therefore, we drove through Berserkjahraun to Þórsá. There, we parked the car and walked along the river down to the bay where the river flows in. We fished the bay from the southern side. We managed to hook and land a few sea char, but they were not large.
During this trip, I experienced what sometimes happens. I grab the fly rod and start casting. I immediately felt that the rod was not behaving normally. That was not surprising, as the tip was broken. The older daughter had stepped on the rod and broken the tip. She was so terrified that she dared not tell her father about the mishap. Things like this happen, and there is nothing to be done about it.
