The better you know a fishing lake, the greater the chances of a catch. That goes without saying, because trout frequent the areas where they find food. A fisherman who intends to hook a fish also needs to find these feeding areas of the trout. Knowledge of them comes with practice. I have often cast into the cove by the trees and from the gravel bank over there. I don’t think these spots are particularly promising. At the very least, the results are not spectacular.
On one trip, I met a fisherman who pointed out a certain rock on the east bank and said it was his favorite spot. I had not fished there, but I decided to do so now. I cannot say I caught a lot of fish there, but I did manage to land one beautiful char.
