On Saturday evening, July 23rd, my wife and I—along with our dog, Lappi—trekked through pouring rain onto Holtavörðuheiði plateau to a small lake there called Tangavatn. We know there is Arctic char in this lake, and quite good fish at that. However, there probably aren't many of them. The weather was actually wonderful despite the rain: warm, with a light northeasterly breeze. There is no reason to make a short story long—we cast many times, and beautifully so, but the water remained completely dead.
