I have made a point of recording every fishing trip, no matter how uneventful they may be. This past Saturday, I took a morning trip up to Holtavörðuheiði heath to fish Lake Tangavatn. It was calm and drizzly—ideal weather for fishing. I have fished this lake several times before and have never encountered another soul there. Until now.
Two men were there on a powerful ATV. They struck up a conversation with me, as they were on the same mission as I: trying to catch a fish. To make a long story short, neither I nor they caught a single trout. There was some fish in the water, however, as I saw them rise four or five times.
