A fishing trip to our “Lake on the Moor” isn’t the only harbinger of autumn for our family. Usually, we are also picking berries and making jam at the same time. Our food stores for the winter grew quite nicely during the weekend of August 20th–22nd. We visited our lake and caught three brown trout, which were then filleted and frozen.
There was also a good crop of berries, so we managed to pick enough blueberries for the winter’s jam-making. Not a bad result at all.
